This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
We aim to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 200 genes of high research interest at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. The genes include 85 immune response genes, 65 neurobiology genes and 50 reproductive biology genes. These SNPs will be useful for researchers tracking the genetic similarity of animals within a study. We are also interested in identifying SNPs that are specific to either Indian-origin or Chinese-origin rhesus macaques, which can be used to confirm animal ancestry in breeding colo
