This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. To support the coordination of information services among the NPRCs as well as outreach to the national and international primatological and biomedical communities.1) The Jacobsen Library continues to provide document delivery services to scientists and researchers at the various NPRCs and the Caribbean PRC. 2) PrimateLit (a bibliography database covering 1940-present) is freely available as an NCRR resource via the Web. The Library, in collaboration with the UW General Library System, implemented 'content linking' in PrimateLit in 2007 which recognizes the user's institution through his IP address and links the user directly to the electronic library resources available at his institution. 3) The Library staff reviewed, revamped and updated information regarding primatology as a career provided on the Primate Info Net (PIN) website. 4). Staff continue to develop new Primate Factsheets on PIN providing access to information by species name and geographical location. Factsheets are organized by Taxonomy, Morphology, & Ecology, Behavior, Conservation, References, and Links. There are currently 35 in-depth Primate Factsheets available. 5) The Jacobsen Library completed development of the PrimateImages Natural History database. The database provides keyword-searchable access to over 5,000 natural history images via PIN and the UW-Madison Digital Collections site. A sister database for copyright free art and illustrations is in development. 6) Subcontractors on the grant are the Primate Information Center, WaNPRC, Seattle, providing indexing for PrimateLit, and the UW Madison Libraries providing technical support for the PrimateLit database.Numerous publications rely in part on this far-reaching information services grant and it would be too exhaustive to list them all here.Ms. Robinson departed the WNPRC in August 2007, and Dr. Kemnitz took over interim management of this grant.
