The Shriver Center is a Mental Retardation Research Center consisting of 47 scientists and research fellows in the general field of Developmental Neurobiology. The University Affiliated Faciltiy is a sister organization consisting of 39 investigators and academicians who compose a multidisciplinary team of professionals committed to research, teaching, training and the provision of services to the developmentally disabled. Twenty- two of these scientists, who are supported by 11 PHS grants, find increasingly that their clinical and basic science research goals are dependent upon sophisticated computer based operations. This proposal documents those needs and proposes a solution through the purchase of a multiple CPU computer system distributed on a local network. Accessories will include a laser printer, peripherals necessary to interface the CPU's on the network, and research based software including statistical packages.
