The goal of this project is to assist the State of Tennessee in implementing an integrated animal feed safety system. It is the aim of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to be a key component in execution of an integrated animal feed safety system across the United States. Multiple activities will be supported through this project including robust animal feed and PC inspection programs. Personnel, training, and travel will all be key line items utilized within this project.

Public Health Relevance

Animal Feed and PC Project Narrative In April 2019, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) achieved full implementation and conformance to the 2019 AFRPS. Moving forward, continued funding support is requested to assist TDA in maintaining full conformance with the AFRPS as well as delivering a robust PC inspection program. This funding will ensure TDA has the resources and infrastructure necessary to sustain and enhance the State?s animal feed regulatory activities aimed at reducing hazards in firms that manufacture, process, pack, or hold animal food.
