The Administrative Core is comprised of the Principal Investigator, Program Director, Director of Administrative Services, Technical Writer and a Project Manager II and will be responsible for the overall management of the proposed program. This Core will serve as the intermediate between NIMHD, the University and components within the RCMI program.
The specific aims of the Administrative Core are to: 1) Provide leadership necessary for the planning, implementation and management of all program activities consistent with achieving RCMI program goals and mission; 2) Provide administrative management in areas of procurement, human resources and financial oversight; 3) Facilitate the implementation of all operational activities, workshops and seminars under the research infrastructure, community engagement and dissemination, research and pilot projects components; and 4) Serve as an intermediary between all components of the RCMI program and NIMHD and all external constituents. The Administrative Core will establish an Advisory Board and Steering Committee to oversee all aspects of the program and to ensure that program objectives and specific aims are met. Board members will include members with expertise in prostate cancer biology, health disparities, molecular biology of cancer, etc. The PI will be responsible for the overall direction of the RCMI program and responsible for implementation of programmatic objectives. The PD will manage the day-to-day administrative management of the program while ensuring the coordination of all program activities. The Administrative team will work as a team to execute all programmatic activities and implement these activities with continuous consultation of the Advisory/Steering Committees. The RCMI program Administrative staff will provide fiscal management of the program in regards to procurement services, pre- and post-budget management, as well as establishing communications with other personnel in critical University offices, i.e., Research and Sponsored Programs, Grants and Contract Accounting, Purchasing, etc. The Administrative Core will also provide oversight and coordination of all activities within the research infrastructure, community engagement core, research and pilot projects, career development activities, and evaluation of program activities.
