As the caBIG initiative moves forward, several Special Interest Groups are being created within many of the workspaces. Special Interest Groups are being created, to allow the Cancer Center participants to meet in subgroups to discuss specific topics of interest as identified by the workspace itself. In many ways, the Special Interest Groups will define the initial concept and requirements of the software or technology tools to be built to address that specific area of need. Typical support activities include: logistics support for setting up meeting & teleconferences facilitation of meetings provide strategic leadership and vision to the special interest groups document results and outcomes of the meetings/teleconferences provide feedback to NCI leadership on the scope and direction that special interest groups are taking
