As the caBIG initiative moves forward, several Special Interest Groups are being created within many of the workspaces. Special Interest Groups are being created, to allow the Cancer Center participants to meet in subgroups to discuss specific topics of interest as identified by the workspace itself. In many ways, the Special Interest Groups will define the initial concept and requirements of the software or technology tools to be built to address that specific area of need. Each Special Interest Groups is anticipated to meet either in person or by telephone one to two times a month, Examples of SIGs or subgroups for each of the workspaces are below:Clinical Trial Management Systems Workspace Financial-Billing SIG Structured Protocol Representation SIG CDUS Reporting SIG Lab Interfaces SIG Adverse Event Reporting SIG caBIG Compatibility SIGIntegrative Cancer Research Workspace Gene Annotation SIG Data Analysis and Statistical Tools SIG Translational (Clinical Integration) SIG Informatics for Proteomics SIG Microarray Repositories SIG Pathways SIGArchitecture Workspace caGRID Team Information Architecture Subgroup Security Access and Control SubgroupTraining Strategic Level Working Group Developer Subcommittee Adopter SubcommitteeStrategic Planning Level Working Group Strategic Plan SubcommitteeSupport Activities: In order to support these Special Interest Groups subcommittees additional effort will be required to maintain and facilitate.
