Dr. Bo Reipurth, at the University of Hawaii, will organize the meeting "Protostars and Planets V", to be held October 24-28, 2005 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is a large (~500 attendees), multidisciplinary meeting that brings together international experts, students and postdocs, and promotes cross-disciplinary discussion in star formation and solar system astronomy research. The goals of the meeting are four-fold: (1) to present an overview of the major areas of progress since "Protostars and Planets IV"; (2) to bring researchers together for discussions and exchanges of ideas; (3) to strengthen future interdisciplinary research in these areas; and (4) to encourage the participation of young researchers and advanced students in these fields of research.
