DCOSS (Distributed Computing on Sensor Systems) 2005 will take place in Marina del Rey, California during June 30 - July 1, 2005. The conference will provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to present their contributions related to the above high-level aspects of distributed sensor systems.

Intellectual Merit The focus of the conference is on distributed computing issues in large-scale networked sensor systems (including systematic design techniques and tools, algorithms, and applications), but networking-related contributions that support high level abstractions are also welcome. In addition to contributed papers, the meeting will also include keynote addresses by leading researchers, a panel discussion, and a poster/presentation session.

Broader Impact Participation in conferences such as DCOSS 2005 is an extremely important part of the graduate school experience. The conference provides an opportunity to interact with more senior researchers, other graduate students and be exposed to leading edge work in the field. The support requested will enable graduate students to attend this important conference in the emerging area of networked sensor systems who would otherwise be unable to attend DCOSS 2005.
