This award through the Division of Chemistry provides support to Georgia Southern University to provide travel support to 32 LSAMP undergraduate research scholars, and their mentors, to participate in the 231st National Meeting and Exposition of the American Chemical Society. The travel grant program is intended to promote full engagement of the LSAMP scholars at the ACS national meeting, the largest professional meeting for chemists in the world. The centerpiece of the planned activities is presentation of the LSAMP scholars research at an LSAMP/REU SciMix symposium. The student posters will also be featured at an NSF sponsored open house for meeting participants that is open to all ACS meeting attendees. The LSAMP faculty mentors will participate in a symposium intended to promote partnerships between the REU and LSAMP programs.
