The growth in computing is fueling a renewed growth in computational operations research (OR). As with any discipline heavy on computations, mathematics, and engineering, the field of OR needs to attract the best and the brightest to enhance the nation's competitiveness. Attracting and retaining women, and minorities is all the more important, and this grant is intended to help bring such students from across the country to participate in the largest venue for Operations Research, the INFORMS conference. By showing the breadth of research in the field, it will be easier to retain these graduate students.
