The Foundation for Independent Higher Education (FIHE) is coordinating connection of twelve small higher education institutions to the Internet. The institutions are: Holy Cross College Notre Dame IN Lackawanna Junior College Scranton PA Lake Erie College Painesville OH Lincoln Memorial University Harrogate TN Midway College Midway KY Morris College Sumter SC Northwest Christian College Eugene OR Patten College Oakland CA Pennsylvania Institute of Technology Media PA Point Park College Pittsburgh PA Saint Leo College Saint Leo FL Spalding University Louisville KY Faculty and students at the sites benefit from access to the resources of the Internet, including libraries and supercomputers. In addition, they are able to communicate and collaborate with colleagues at other campuses in pursuit of research and educational projects. The award provides partial support of the project for two years.
