The continuing GK-12 project from Lehigh University will recruit eight STEM graduate fellows per year. Each fellow will partner with two K-12 teachers. The teams of fellows and teachers will further collaborate with science and math coordinators from partnering districts. The university has committed resources to sustain the project activities after the end of the grant for a period up to two years. The intellectual merit includes the efforts to widen the pipeline of fellows, such as from biology, computer science, and mathematics, who can communicate complex concepts of STEM disciplines through writing and multimedia. The broader impacts include the efforts to disseminate novel curricula and resources to more schools regionally and nationally.
