The University of Akron continues to provide Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Polymer Science and Engineering through this REU Site funded by the National Science Foundation's Division of Materials Research. This 12-week long summer REU program emphasizes multidisciplinary approach and offers tutorials on the fundamentals of polymer science and engineering, hands-on research experience in a faculty mentor's group, professional development activities including discussions on career directions, GRE preparations and science research ethics, visits to industrial/governmental laboratories, and a final presentation by REU students at the Northeast Ohio Undergraduate Research Conference. The program will recruit a diverse group of students from different institutions.
