9353853 Gillman Valparaiso University will initiate a four-week, residential Young Scholars program in mathematics for students entering grades 9 and 10. Students will explore group theory and combinatorics. Emphasis will be given to hands-on exploration and use of concrete examples. Career activities and ethics of science discussions are also featured. Field trips to local museums, laboratories and industrial sites and four follow-up meetings complete the program activities. ***
