Four nanoscience experiments for inclusion in the undergraduate curriculum are being developed: 1) Quantum Dots; 2) Magnetic Nanomaterials; 3) Nanomaterials for Electronics; 4) Inorganic-Organic Nanocomposites. The new experiments are being used in a new laboratory addition to an existing Nanotechnology course and in several other science and engineering courses. The addition of these experiments is improving student understanding in nanotechnology. It is anticipated that the experiments will be included in a new laboratory manual for nanoscience and nanotechnology that is being developed in cooperation with faculty at several other institutions. Additionally, this work is strengthening ties between the college and industrial firms in the area.

This project is being co-funded by the Division of Engineering Education and Centers.
