This award is to supplement Dr. Thomas' study of radon release by seismic and volcanic phenomena at Kilauea Volcano, Hawaii, by supporting an undergraduate student who will work on the project in accordance with NSF Program Announcement 86-81, Research Experiences for Undergraduates. The student will work full time during the summer amd half time during the academic year, monitoring the performance of instruments in the field, and assisting with the compilation and reduction of geophysical and geochemical data. The student will be a properly qualified sophmore or junior from the University of Hawaii.
