The 18th International Symposium on Acoustical Imaging will be held, September 18-20, 1989, in Santa Barbara. The professional society involved are: the Acoustical Society of America; the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society; and the International Society for Optical Engineering. A wide range of topics related to acoustical imaging will be discussed at this symposium, these include: acoustic holography and tomography, acoustic microscopy, medical ultrasound, nondestructive evaluation, underwater acoustical imaging, acoustical signal processing, acoustic parameter estimation, seismic exploration, tissue characterization, and image reconstruction algorithms.
