A set of networked workstations will be provided for researchers at the University of California for research in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This equipment is provided under the Instrumentation Grants for Research in Computer and Information Science and Engineering program. The research for which the equipment is to be used will be in the areas of 1) Automatically recoverable distributed computer systems for real- time applications. 2) Packet communications protocol. 3) Methodology for synthesis of VLSI systems. 4) Architecture concepts for high-speed pattern recognition.
