This is for a planning visit to China. Dr. John Johnson, the Pennsylvania State University proposed two planning visit, one in 2005 and the other in 2006. The goal of this project is to form a partnership in research and education in innovative sintered products between the Center for Innovative Sintered Products (CISP), the Pennsylvania State University, and the Tsinghua University. In the initial visit, the operation of the equipment will be reviewed and key input variables will be identified. Titanium and titanium alloy (Ti and Ti-6Al-4V) powder will be first fabricated at Tsinghua University and then used for the powder injection molding at Penn State. The second visit is for Dr. Johnson and a graduate student to conduct preliminary experiments at Tsinghua University.
