This award supports the U.S.-Israel Planning Visit: Enabling Technologies for Ultra Wideband Digital Optical Links Operating at Rates of 100s of Gb/s. U.S. collaborators Asher Madjar, Temple University and Paul Yu, University of California San Diago will finalize plans for a collaboration with Associate Professor Dan Ritter, Technion Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa. The technical objective is to develop a very high speed photodetector integrated with a transimpedence amplifier, which is a very important device for future 100 Gb/s optical communications. The collaboration among the three institutions will integrate the facilities and expertise of the investigators and strengthen their ability to submit a competitive proposal to NSF following the planning visit
