The International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) will provide on-site support to NSF grantees and activities through its network of offices in Prague, Bucharest, Cluj, and Sofia in Eastern Europe and in Moscow, Kiev, Riga, Yerevan, Tashkent, Novosibirsk, and Dushanbe in the former Soviet Union (FSU). Four modes of assistance will be offered: (1) local logistical support for U.S. grantees; (2) communication and appointment scheduling with local officials; (3) facilities for e-mail and word processing; and (4) on-site dissemination of information about NSF programs and procedures.
