The proposed project will focus its efforts on the repair/renovation of Just Science Hall. Repair/renovation will include (1) general construction, (2) plumbing, (3) heating ventailation, air conditioning, and (4) electrical. General construction activities will include repairs of walls, ceilings, floors, the insulating of exterior windows and doors, foundation and exterior masonry. Plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical activities include: piping, fixture replacement, heating ventilation, two (2) mechanical systems, installation of variable air volume boxes, new wiring, wiring code modifications, and replacement of lighting fixtures. Also associated with the modernization of the facility will be handicap compliance renovation, computer equipment wiring and fixed equipment (built-in research and research training furnishing). Once the modernization project is completed the present research activities, which include physical sciences research, math-sciences education research, and computational research, will move to another level in terms of productivity.
