A planning meeting will be held at Western Michigan University for the proposed Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Barrier Packaging Materials and Coatings. The Center will be a joint effort with Michigan State University. Barrier coated packaging is an extremely large and important area of interest to industry, government, and the consumer. It is expected to grow rapidly as industry expands its market offering of ethic and specialty foods, nutraceuticals and functional foods, extended shelf life products, and convenience foods and products.
