This small planning grant will examine, through simulation modeling, the optimum parameters (and relationships among those parameters) in the area of "context aware computing" for disaster responses. In particular, the following parameters would be examined:

computing context, time and disaster lifecycle, and location contexts.

Research in this area could improve the timeliness and effectiveness of field-based triage in a disaster, minimizing the resultant number and severity of injuries as well as the number of deaths.
