The Organisation for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) will conduct an examination of China' s national innovation system during 2005-6. This project arose out of a request for cooperation with the OECD by China, which became an observer country in the OECD's Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy. This project will consist of three activities: (1) an international comparison of innovation indicators; (2) statistics and policies on human resources for S&T, and, (3) China's participation in the globalization of R&D. The outcome of the project will be a comprehensive report and a conference with the objective of improving information and understanding of China's innovation system.
