The objectives of this research are to achieve a quantitative understanding of the interaction of radiation with atomic systems. The emphasis is on the quantitative treatment of multi-electron processes using a B-spline based configuration interaction approach. Resonance energies and widths and photoionization cross sections will be computed for a variety of ground and excited states atomic species.
