This funding supports an interdisciplinary workshop on changing ice conditions in Interior Alaska. The workshop will be the second on this subject. The information gathered at the first workshop and the project report is available at http://uaf-db.uaf.edu/jukebox/PJWeb/jukebox_links.htm. The proposed workshop will continue to bring together academic scientists and knowledgeable indigenous community members to share observations and explanations, both scientific and traditional ecological knowledge. The intent of the follow-up workshop is to build on the themes of last years workshop by presenting the findings of the previous year's work and continuing the discussion of environmental conditions, as well as the working relationships between indigenous communities and scientists to explore lake and river ice in Interior Alaska.
