The National Geographic Society (NGS) is putting on the "Animal-Borne Imaging Symposium," a three-day conference to be held at NGS headquarters in Washington, DC, October 10-13, 2007. The event will bring current and prospective researchers together to discuss application of animal-borne imaging capabilities in research, conservation, and education. Selected papers presented at the symposium will be published in a special issue of the Marine Technology Society's journal. The forum will facilitate interdisciplinary interaction among scientists and includes public outreach through lectures, a documentary film series, teacher workshops, student learning activities, radio interviews, video Podcast production, and a day dedicated to immersing the public in the adventure of science.
