The goal of the Prevention of Group B Streptococcal (GBS) Disease contract is to develop and implement clinical studies to further our understanding of the epidemiology of group B streptococcal colonization and invasive infections; implement coordinated, multidisciplinary investigations of the host immune response to group B streptococci; and support reference laboratories for the production of reagents and testing of clinical specimens, including serotyping and serological assays.
