This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Administrative Core oversees all the COBRE activities. It is responsible for organization of meetings and reports, implements procedures for the award of pilot projects, coordinates the search for new faculty candidates, schedules External Advisory Committee activities, and oversees the budgets and tracks the accounts. The mentoring, scientific direction and professional development activities are coordinated by the Administrative Core through the activities of the COBRE Director and Co-Director, but no separate budgetary sub-core was established for these activities. Such activities as monthly meetings, encouragement of junior faculty training endeavors and scientific observations and advice, the grant writing workshop and career advice are included in the Administrative Core. The Administrative Core provides support for one non-tenure track faculty member and his research.
