This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We performed steady state and time-resolved measurements of four linear peptides with diverse opioid activity profiles. All of the peptides contained 2-naphthylalanine residue in the 2 position of the peptide sequence. We want to correlate the ?-factors of the short lived component and the ? opioid antagonist potencies. We extended study to the solutions of different viscosity in order to follow the effect of different diffusion on fluorescence quenching.
