Although individual differences ininsular sensitivity have been associated with self-report measures ofchronic anxiety, previous research has not examined whether individualdifferences in insular sensitivity predict learning to avoid aversivestimuli. In the present study, insular sensitivity was assessed asparticipants anticipated monetary losses while undergoing functionalmagnetic resonance imaging.
