The proposed research is relevant to public health as it will provide insights into how glycemic excursions impact cognitive status in adults with type 1 diabetes. The proposed work will identify mechanisms for glycemia-related cognitive impairment in adults with type 1 diabetes and inform the development of novel tools that could be used to understand how changes in glucose impact daily functioning. The project is relevant to NIDDK?s mission because it will contribute new knowledge and a practical patient-centered tool that will improve the health and quality of life of people with diabetes.
