This application is to request an amendment for existing RO1 to purchase replacement equipment including freezer, BL2 hood, Flow cytometer and respective software. In additions the supplement seeks funds to compensate for sustained losses in animal costs, effort, reagents during the COVID19 lockdown.

Public Health Relevance

The funded application evaluates the impact of different commensal species or communities on promoting resistance to keratitis and the mechanisms responsible for protection. This amendment is to seek additional funds to recover from the interruptions due to COVID19 lockdown of the laboratory and to request funds to purchase limited vital equipment needed to replace nonfunctional equipment.
