(Animal Food Sample Collection) The New Jersey Department of Agriculture (NJDA) laboratory is participating in animal food sample collection project to acquire minimum 501 animal food product samples for testing. The laboratory will partner with the NJDA Division of Marketing and Development (DMD) to collect animal food products including pet food and livestock feed. The NJDA DMD is the animal food regulatory agency in the State of New Jersey. Animal food products under federal jurisdiction will be collected by the NJDA DMD for microbiology and chemistry testing. The NJDA DMD has resources including equipment and personnel to accomplish the animal food sample collection proposed under this project. The laboratory will work with the NJDA DMD to develop a sampling agreement. The sampling agreement will be submitted to the FDA for approval before commencement of sample collection activities. The sample collection project will support development of integrated laboratory science and food safety in the State of New Jersey and the United States in support of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
