Method Development and Validation Special Project Abstract The goal of this project is to assist the State of Tennessee in developing methods and technologies to expand the TDA Technical Service Laboratory's (TSL) ability to monitor for pesticides in samples in support of an integrated human food and animal feed safety system across the United States. It is a goal of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to develop methods and technologies to expand the capability to detect pesticides in human food. The work proposed in this project will help expand the TSL's ability to test for more pesticides in more food products resulting in a stronger human food safety system.

Method Development and Validation Special Project Research Narrative The Technical Services Laboratory (TSL) is Tennessee's regulatory lab for human food and is the primary servicing lab for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture's (TDA) MFRPS program. The leaders and staff of the TSL would like the opportunity to work toward expanding sample matrices for the MFRPS program in an effort to help strengthen the human food safety system in the United States. The funding requested for this special project will assist in the expansion of existing methods and technologies to new pesticide testing matrices for human food produced in Tennessee.
