1. Identify an appropriate subsample on NEXT Plus participants a. Approximately 50 participants meeting the criteria of overweight or obese weight status (greater than or equal to 85th percentile of BMI for gender) at the Wave 4 data assessment or at any two of the previous data collections should be recruited, and 50 participants of normal weight. The two groups should be comprised of similar numbers of boys and girls, and have similar race/ethnicity distributions. b. Recruitment can be regional and does not need to reflect the breadth of geographic locations found in the entire sample. c. Obtain informed consent for procedures 2. Provide a MOP detailing assessment procedures for NICHD approval prior to implementation a. Include details about the training of field workers, including research assistants and sonographers implementing the assessments. b. Include details regarding the scanning protocol, including number, angles, and locations of images and justification for choices. 3. Identify a single source for reading lab measures a. Indicate qualifications and certification of CIMT reader(s) on staff b. Describe in detail CIMT reading procedures c. Provide evidence of a history of production of highly reliable data and implementation of quality control procedures. 4. For each participate, obtain valid measures CIMT
