EXCEEDTHE SPACE PROVIDED. Morgan State University proposes to establish a Center for Research Training in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CRTCAM) at the University. To accomplish this we are teaming with Johns Hopkins University and the TAI-SOPHIA Institute in Columbia, Maryland. Our overall goal is to recruit individuals from underrepresented minority population groups and train them in the performance of high quality research to better answer fundamental and clinical questions regarding the practice and utilization, as well as the safety and efficacy of CAM in the United States. We expect the duration of predoctoral and postdoctoral training under this program to be 3 years; short-term trainees will also be accepted for 2-3 months training. Our Advisory Boards and Institutional Review Boards will ensure human subjects protection and equitable treatment in all research projects our trainees are likely to be involved in.
