This award is made under the high performance connections portion of ANIR's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 98-102. It provides partial support for two years for a DS-3 connection. Applications include synchronous and asynchronous collaboration in distributed virtual environments, molecular modeling and visualizations, multimedia data warehousing, assessment of unsteady aerodynamics of gas turbine jet engines and research in information-intensive areas of human computer interaction and education. Collaborating institutions include but are not limited to Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, Kent State University, Purdue University, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, Reed College, Texas A&M, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
