The WIYN High Resolution Infrared Camera will be built as a facility instrument for the WIYN 3.5 m telescope. As a dedicated near-infrared camera on the WIYN tip-tilt module, the camera will provide near-diffraction limited imaging with a resolution of approximately 0.2 arc seconds. The capabilities enabled by the camera will have a significant impact on the graduate programs of WIYN's member institutions. The construction of the telescope is the cornerstone of one graduate student's PhD thesis.
