The National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Drug abuse, Division of Therapeutics and Medical Consequences (herein referred to as NIDA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center in Perry Point, MD (herein referred to as the CSPCC) shall jointly establish a clinical trials program for testing of investigational or marketed medications for treatment and/or prevention of drug abuse and dependency. Each party will provide resources to ensure that these research studies can be conducted in safe and scientifically rigorous manners. These efforts may include providing and/or securing the resources necessary for the administrative and operational support for the conduct of clinical trials under this Inter-Agency Agreement (IAA) that are not otherwise provided by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). These resources include, the qualified personnel, facilities, supplies and equipment needed to provide the services. Services will be performed by personnel at the CSPCC's core facility and by other persons/entities as designated by NIDA and CSPCC.
