This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. In this activity MSM will continue optimization of our current core facilities and build new technologies that will allow MSM to move ahead in its goal of building a research intense environment.
The specific aims are: 1)Provide partial salary support for professional and technical staff of the existing core research technology facilities and for research support services positions, and provide a portion of the supplies and other non-personnel operating costs of existing core facilities and research support services; and 2)Establish a new Functional Genomics Core Facility that will enable investigators at Morehouse to utilize cutting-edge technologies to study patterns of gene expression as a means of elucidating complex biological processes.
