Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. This study will test the hypothesis that hemophiliacs with Hepatitis C virus alone and those with HCV/HIV co-infection have different kinetic profiles of HCV viral replication and clearance following treatment, and that these changes are related to differences in the HCV pre-treatment quasi-species distribution in liver, PBMCs and serum.
