The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This study seeks to characterize the effects of advancing age, gender, and race on carbamazepine (CBZ) pharmacokinetics and metabolism utilizing an IV dose of a stable-labeled CBZ isotope. This study will also seek to determine if subjects homozygous or heterozygous for the CYP3A5*1 allele have an increased CBZ clearance and a faster elimination half-life.
