This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this research is to try and identify which women who take tamoxifen are likely to suffer from hot flashes, or which are more likely to have other side effects or benefits from the drug. We will determine this by figuring out whether there are mutations that normally occur in human DNA that might influence the way individuals respond to various types of medications.
