This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The purpose of this study is to see if a long-term exercise program affects illness and survival. Other secondary purposes of the study include 1) collecting data on whether there are any risks of exercise trainign in patients with heart failure, 2) determining whether exercise training increases exercise capacity and quality of life, and 3) determining the economic impact of the use of exercise training as a treatment in patients with heart failure.
