This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at high risk of experiencing heart attacks, strokes, heart failure, and other manifestations of cardiovascular disease. To help us understand the prevalence andcauses of heart disease in the CKD population, patients referred to the Cardiorenal Clinic at the UNC Heart Center will be asked to enroll in a research registry. Information which is typically obtained during the course of an outpatient evaluation (such as medical history and results of routine laboratory and diagnostic studies), as well as results of questionnaires, will be compiled and entered into a database for subsequent analysis.
