This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide a screening process to determine eligibility of potentialstudy participants for an unspecified human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) vaccine trial.Participants: Healthy male and female study participants between the ages of 18 and 50 who are uninfected with HIV-1 virus.Procedures (methods): There will be 2 study visits that can occur anytime at least 2 weeks prior to enrollment in a vaccine study. The first visit involves a physical exam, health history, and blood and urine tests. The second visit will be a review of the results of the tests which will determine eligibility to enroll in vaccine studies.
