There are many medications available in the U.S. to lower cholesterol. Some medications are absorbed into the body and cause drug interactions with other medications. However, some medications lower cholesterol without being absorbed into the body. Recently, orange juice that lowers cholesterol has been marketed in the U.S. by the Minute Maid Corporation. The goal of this study is to better understand the effects of the cholesterol-lowering drug Welchol , which is not absorbed into the body, in combination with cholesterol-lowering orange juice (Minute Maid Heart Wise ) in men and women with high cholesterol.
