Abstract

, our study confirmed that Depo Provera contraception immediately postpartum has no detrimental effect on lactation. Other studies are needed to address the issue of a possible positive effect of Depo Provera on lactation. We found no statistically significant difference between groups when testing for a 20% difference in lactational performance. However, larger samples may demonstrate a statistically significant beneficial effect of Depo Provera on lactation.
